Hand-Knotted Signed Persian Qum Room Sized Rug
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted signed Persian Qum wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, navy, rose, slate, tan, various greens and yellow. The central field begins with an ornate pendant medallion with coordinating spandrels grounded in navy, and features scrolling an abundant variety of floral motifs. Framing the field are three guard borders, then a herati patterned main border, along with a pair of floral meander guard borders and a carnation meander minor border. There is a signature to the outer floral meander guard border at one end, ‘تقوی سببت’ which translates to “Taghavvi Sabbet.’ Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a short warp fringe to the ends, as well as a distributor label to the underside.
