Antique Louis XV Painted Fauteuil

An antique Louis XV painted fauteuil. This armchair features a scalloped crest rail and upholstered back panel joining curved armrests. This piece includes a removable cushion seat in a painted frame. The frame includes a scalloped front apron and rises on cabriole legs joined by an X-stretcher and terminating on shaped feet. There are no visible maker’s marks.

- heavy patina, worn finish, gaps at joints; borer holes and distressing throughout; joints are loose, but chair is solid; seat cushion is not original, upholstery is discolored in some areas; one end of stretcher is unattached from frame.
