19th Century Regency Rosewood Davenport Desk
Item Details
A 19th century Regency rosewood davenport desk. The desk has a lidded divided compartment to the top back with a brass rail to three sides, the compartment in a bombe form. The desk has a slanted hinged writing surface with a tooled leather insert and curvilinear beveled edge and apron to the front. The surface door opens up to a natural pine wood storage space with two faux drawers, along with two drawers all outfitted with round brass knobs. The desk has four faux drawers to the left side and four working drawers to the right, all with round wood pulls. The desk has a recessed knee space to the front with a pair of serpentine front support legs embellished with scrollwork, acanthus leaves and paw feet. The desk sits atop a raised base apron with round pad feet.
