Japanese "Singing Bowl" Standing Bell with Dragon Motif, Late 19th Century
Item Details
A Japanese dragon motif ‘singing bowl’ standing bell. This metal bowl features an etched gold tone dragon and red floral design at its sides and a gold tone meander border at its rim. The metal bowl also features a hammered metal appearance throughout. This piece dates to the late 19th century. Singing bowls are played by using a wooden mallet around its side, commonly used by Buddhists.
