American Empire Tiger Maple and Cherry Bedside Chest of Drawers
Item Details
An American Empire tiger maple and cherry bedside chest of drawers, mid 19th century. The paneled case features a rectangular top above a stack of four dovetailed drawers, the top of which is outset over a pair of fully-turned pilasters with ringed accents. The cockbeaded drawer fronts are fitted with glass knobs before pine linings and the chest rises on short, ring-turned legs ending in ball feet. The back of the top drawer is marked with a later stamp appearing to read ‘Geo. L. Weber, Upholstering / 0517 Texas Avenue, Louisville Ky. 40217 / APR-2 1973’.
