An oil painting on canvas of a landscape by Cincinnati-based artist M. Katherine Hurley (20th century). This work features a hazy landscape with the sun shining through a heavily clouded sky. Signed ‘MK Hurley’ to the lower right, the work is presented in a gold-tone gesso and wood frame. A descriptive label is adhered to the verso.

Hurley grew up in a small midwestern Ohio town with rolling hills. She received a BFA from the College of Mount St. Joseph and continued her studies at The Art Academy of Cincinnati with renowned artist Wolf Kahn. Well-exhibited with work in private and corporate collections, Hurley is also a Signature member of the Pastel Society of America.
