Semi-Antique Finely Hand-Knotted Persian Haji Jalili Tabriz Silk Room Sized Rug
Item Details
A semi-antique finely hand-knotted Persian Haji Jalili silk room sized rug. This rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of sand, madder red, sapphire, sky blue, rose, walnut, and ivory. The madder red hued field is ornately designed and it begins with a foliate edged pendant medallion enclosed by coordinating spandrels with sand colored grounds. Filling the field is an abundance of scrolling floral and foliate motifs throughout, with the floral elements outlined. Framing the field is an equally elaborate main border with a soft red ground infilled with an array of flowers and medallions, as well as a selection of floral meander guard and minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a silk warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
