A semi-antique hand-knotted Persian Mahal wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of indigo, camel, terracotta, sky blue, salmon, and sage. The indigo hued field is lozenged over a wheat ground with crenelated edges, beginning with a serrated diamond medallion, and featuring floral sprays and motifs. Framing the field is a main floral meander border and a pair of chained guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
