Federal Walnut Slant Front Desk, 18th Century

A Federal walnut, slant front desk, 18th century. This desk features a drop-down writing surface with several small drawers and compartments to the interior. It has three large drawers under the desk portion, each of which is fitted with brass bat wing hardware and bail handles. Exposed dovetail joints are visible along the top and sides of the piece, as well as, at the sides of each drawer. The piece rests on ogee bracket feet.
