Antique Tung-Chih Era, Qing Dynasty Porcelain Vase

A lovely antique Tung-Chih (Tongzhi) era, Qing dynasty porcelain vase dated 1862-1865 in the Four Seasons design. Bamboo represents winter, mum is autumn, peony or orchid is summer, plum is spring. The pomegranate represents ‘Plenty Seeds’ – family perpetuates. The bamboo represents ‘humility – the higher it grows, the more it must bend’. The butterfly represents romance and the peach blossom represents ‘health and wealth’. Porcelain vase is 5 × 11 and sits on a teak base.
