1905 Signed "Outdoor Pastimes of an American Hunter" by Theodore Roosevelt

A 1905 first limited edition of Outdoor Pastimes of an American Hunter signed by Theodore Roosevelt during his term as President. Published by Charles Scribner’s Sons and numbered 68 of 260 copies. The book has original three-quarter brown pigskin over tan boards, and the spine is blind stamped. Both covers need to be reattached, but the body of the book is in good shape. This special edition has larger than average paper and it is printed using Ruisdal paper by De Vinne Press. There are forty-nine photographic plates, including the frontispiece photogravure portrait of Roosevelt bearing his facsimile autograph. Each of the plates are protected by original captioned tissue guard. President Theodore Roosevelt signed the book in black ink using a steel tip fountain pen. The signature appears on a special page, before the half title page, which notes the limited edition number and printer information. A Letter of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication accompanies the book.

Condition

The cover boards have separated from the spine, needs to be restored or re-attached. The tips of the pages have yellowed, but minor yellowing or foxing throughout.
