A limited edition serigraph titled Tipitina’s, Professor Longhair Juice & Piano Bar by two American artists, photographer Michael P. Smith (1937-2008) with painter and commercial artist Mischa Philippoff (b. 1942), dated 1980. This poster was created in 1980 the year of Professor Longhair’s death. Tipitina’s is a cultural institution and a fixture of New Orleans jazz clubs. The famous venue was half owned by Michael P. Smith. It is signed ‘Michael P. Smith’ to the lower right , and marked ‘A/P’ (artist’s proof) to the lower center. The piece is additionally signed in plate ‘Henry Roeland Byrd’ to the lower left. Publishing information is included to the bottom right edge of the print. The work is presented under glass in a wooden frame.
