Item Details

A vintage hand-knotted Chinese Peking style wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cobalt, apricot, sapphire, coral, peach, hunter, sky blue, rust, mauve, and ivory. The cobalt hued field begins with a central medallion comprised of blooms and scrolling vine-work enclosed by coordinating spandrels, and small floating bouquets and butterflies throughout. Framing the field is an apricot grounded main border designed with birds and meandering flowers, as well as a fret guard border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
