A machine-woven Indo-Persian style Sherzad faux silk area rug by Marcella’s. The Belgian-made rug, made from bamboo on a cotton ground, is designed with a pale gray oval medallion surrounding a center medallion in ivory and corner spandrels in ivory and gold, with the rug enjoying an overall floral and arabesque pattern in shades of ivory, gold, russet, celadon green and dark gray. The rug has a complex border composed of a major border grounded in ivory with floral medallions flanked by three guard stripes in floral and geometric motifs. The rug is finished with ivory fringe to both ends and is marked to the verso.
