1816 Map of "Europe After the Congress of Vienna"

An antique unframed map titled Europe After the Congress of Vienna published 1816 in Thompson’s New General Atlas. It is an oversized map, spread over four leaves, and featuring an engraved image with hand-tinted countries. The Congress of Vienna, held November 1814 to June 1815 in the capital of the Austrian Empire, redrew the map of Europe following the conclusion of the Napoleonic Wars and attempted to create a stable balance of power to avert further large-scale conflicts.
