Rare 1976 Rolex Date 1530 Automatic Stainless Steel Wristwatch

Item Details

A rare 1976 Rolex Date, reference 1530, automatic stainless steel wristwatch exhibiting an angular face and case. Less than 1500 examples of the 1530 reference were ever made. Essentially, this offered Rolex Date is an OysterQuartz case fitted with an automatic 1570 movement having its original silver dial and vanilla tone patina.

In the early 1970s Rolex joined the watch industry’s revolution of quartz movements. During the five years of research and development, an angular and futuristic case was born in order to house the new quartz movement. This stainless steel case was then combined with the chronometer certified automatic 1570 movement launching the 1530 reference in 1975. The 1530 was discontinued in 1977 after the first OysterQuartz, in the same case, was released.
