19th Century Empire Revival Walnut Sofa

Item Details

An antique box sofa crafted in the Empire Revival style. The sofa has an exposed hand-hewn walnut frame with a straight crest rail and scrolled side arms over a loose cushioned back and cushioned seat. The piece rises on large paw feet with small casters to the underside.
The sofa was brought to the estate by the VanLandingham family in the early twentieth century after purchasing it from the historic Majestic Hotel in Atlanta, Ga.
