Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Heriz Karaja wool carpet runner. This rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, sky blue, ochre, wine, carnation, ivory, and black. The cranberry colored field features five square medallions separated with small hooked diamond medallions. The field is also filled with an abundance of rectilinear designed motifs including branched floral forms, boxes, and leaves. Framing the field is a main leaf and blossom border, as well as a pair of Hamadan guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
