A vintage hand-knotted Afghani Turkmen Ersari wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a variegated and abrash palette of deep reds, indigo, deep brown, and ivory. The field features a lattice of stylized Chakesh guls , with a main diamond and cross primary border. Framing the field is an almond blossom border, along with complementary guard borders. Finishing this rug are triple overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is labeled ‘Afghanistan’.
