Item Details

A hand-knotted Indo-Isfahan wool room sized rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of sapphire, crimson, sky blue, rose, peach, and sand. The sapphire hued field begins with a round pendant medallion enclosed by sand grounded spandrels, while featuring an ornate design of scrolling vine-work of palmettes and floral motifs throughout. Framing the field is a main crimson grounded stylized herati border, along with floral meander guard borders, and meandering minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
