Antique "Buffalo Hide" Ranch-Use Spring Balance Scales
Item Details
A pair of antique ‘buffalo hide’ style spring-balance scales for ranch use. Each features iron and brass construction, and one is emboss-marked with the Freemason square and compass mark. These are typically referred to as ‘buffalo hide’ scales, although their use was most likely for farm and ranch work.
