A mid-century ink and watercolor figure drawing on paper by well-listed artist Leo (Lior) Roth (Israel, 1914 – 2002). The drawing depicts a seated woman drawn in gestural black linework filled with painterly fields of salmon, peach, and blue ink. The painting is signed to the lower right. It is matted in white linen with a gold tone liner and is presented behind glass in a gold tone metal frame with a hanging wire.

Roth is a well-listed artist who was born in Poland and studied in Germany before settling in Israel. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Hamburg, Germany. He went on to work as the Director of Art Academy of the Kibbutzim and won the Jordan Valley Prize for Painting in 1959.

Condition

- to fair. Paper is slightly warped and yellowed with age.
