Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Khamseh wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of indigo, ivory, madder red, wheat, cobalt, cranberry, mahogany, and sepia. The indigo hued field is overpopulated with an abundance of floral forms, along with scattered bird, and cruciform motifs. It has a pole of three stepped diamond medallions each infilled with branched floral devices enclosed by notches to the edges with picket motifs. Framing the field is a main chained diamond border, along with running dog guard borders, and a series of diamond borders including elem panels. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool and goat hair warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
