An mid 20th-century oil painting on canvas attributed to American illustrator Conrad Dickel (1894-1993). This work features an illustration of a Western hunter standing with his game slung over his shoulder. No visible signature was found on the composition. A handwritten inscription to the canvas verso reads ‘Artist / Conrad / Dickle / This Canvas / Made For A / Friend’. The painting is presented in a wood frame with a faint gold-tone finish.
A graduate from the Pennsylvania Museum School of Industrial Art, Conrad Dickel was celebrated for his illustration and advertising art published by magazines and various companies in the United States.

- to fair; small puncture present to upper left of canvas; craquelure throughout painting; stretch marks near edges; small spots of paint loss scattered throughout; small spots of accretion and stains scattered throughout; canvas is loose in frame and needs securing; wear in frame includes small chips, stains, scratches, and finish loss scattered throughout.
