The issue pictured here is one of the 18 rarer ‘Red Star’ Copies, and the only copy to be given a CGC grading of 5.5. The magazine comes encapsulated in a clear acrylic case with grading from the CGC.

This volume 1, issue 1, magazine was the first Playboy ever released. Breaking boundaries for its time, the first issue of Playboy featured jokes, articles, interviews, cartoons, nude photos, and more. Playboy magazine was the first of its kind to gather all these subjects and put them to print in one publication. The magazine also garnered attention for its ‘Sweetheart of the Month’ Marilyn Monroe, and famous full-page nude color photo.
