A hand-knotted Persian Kurdish Bijar wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of violet, crimson, mocha, pine, salmon, ivory, walnut, and wine. The crimson colored field features a violet grounded lozenge infilled with a hexagonal medallion ending in arrows. It also features partial herati designs, as well as leaves, rosettes, and other rectilinear motifs. Framing the field is a main leaf and calyx border, as well as an S patterned guard border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
