A signed 1971 color lithograph on paper by very well-listed Spanish Surrealist Joan Miró (1893 – 1983). This untitled print was published as part of a series of 15 images titled Homenatge a Joan Prats, published and printed by Poligrafa, Barcelona. Each of the 15 images was printed in an edition of 75, with an additional eight copies printed and labeled with the letters A through H. The print features organic abstract shapes printed in Miró’s signature shades of black, blue, red, green, and yellow. The print is signed in graphite to the lower right and labeled ‘G’ in graphite to the lower left. It is double-matted in white and presented behind glass in a wooden frame with black finish and a hanging wire.

Born in Barcelona, Spain during 1893 and received his formal education at the Barcelona Ecole des Beaux-Arts and the Academie Gali. He became friends with Pablo Picasso, Alexander Calder, Ernest Hemingway, Max Ernst and Paul Klee. Miró was accepted as a Surrealist in Paris with the recognition of some of the greatest artists of our times.
