Item Details

A circa 1880 Seth Thomas clock adamantine mantle clock. The adamantine case for this mantel clock is coral with a beveled edge faux-stone top and a gilt metal pillarson each side of the dial. Sides are embellished with lion heads, the piece resting on a rounded base, which is etched with black scrollwork detail. Made of brass, the embossed bezel is round with the face having Arabic numerals, spade hands and two key arbors, and the works are eight day time and strive movement. The backplate and face are marked “ST”; it retains an original label indicating a patent date of 1880.
