A hand-knotted Indo-Persian wool area rug. The rug is rendered in a palette of dark violet, navy, medium blue, cream, tobacco, and tan and features a large center medallion on a dark violet field that is populated with palmettes and lotus flowers connected by foliate scrolls. The center field has floral spandrels to the corners and is wrapped with a compound border of repeating florals and traditional foliate motifs in a complementary palette. It is finished with a cream colored Fringe to the ends.
