A hand-knotted Bakhshayesh Heriz area rug. This rug features a large geometric medallion which creates the focal point for the symmetrical field and spandrels. The filler pattern consists of rectilinear vines, leaves, and palmettes with a main Herati border, framed by meandering floral guard stripes in pale green. The color palette features burnt orange, cream, tan, grey, tan, avocado, salmon, and midnight blue. It ends in cotton warp fringe.
