A hand-painted tin glazed earthenware sculpture of the Evangelist St. John attributed to listed sculptor Eugenio Pattarino (1885-1971). This work depicting the full figure of St. John with an eagle to his side is painted with polychrome enamels and gilding. The figure has a white glaze to his limbs and face, the molded details simply but thoughtfully detailed. This work is signed “Prof. E. Patterino, Italy L. 41”.
