A circa 1830 pillar and scroll clock by Eli Terry & Sons. This antique time piece features a mahogany wood case with three urn style brass finials and a two tiered door with a glass top. The white wooden face displays black Roman numerals, serpentine hands, a painted floral design, and two key arbors. The lower door is embellished with a reverse painted landscape design in a rich and vibrant colorway, which is interrupted by a viweing window for the brass pendulum. It operates on a weight driven 30 hour movement with hour strikes. The interior retains the original label marked ‘Patent Clocks, Invented by Eli Terry’, alongside two columns of operating and maintenance instructions.
