Hand-Knotted Tabatabai Tabriz Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Tabatabai Tabriz hunting rug. This wool area rug features a workshop design that was made in the 1950s to 1970s. The palette is ivory, taupe, cerulean, shades of brown, and pale pastels. Framing the field are compound borders, including a stylized herati primary border featuring meandering palmettes and vines over a camel-colored ground. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with knotted ivory wool warp fringe. It is labeled ‘Made in Iran 100% Wool Pile’.
