Item Details

A vintage hand-knotted Persian Moud Bijar wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of wine red, slate blue, ivory, magenta and black, with a central medallion over a camel ground. The rectangular field features an all-over herati pattern. Framing the field is a series of guard borders surrounding Bijar minor borders with a principal border of stylized floral and foliate elements over a rust ground. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends.
