Item Details
A signed hand-knotted Persian Mashad area rug. This rug features a medallion in deep blue, ivory, and peach, against a dark red ground, filled with shah abbasi palmettes and scrolling tendrils, and corner medallions framing the field. It has a main blue border with repeating palmettes and lancet leaves, flanked by smaller borders with meandering flowers, leaves, and vines. There is a maker’s signature in red to the ivory border. Short cotton warp fringe finishes the rug.
