A hand-knotted Persian Yalameh area rug. This room-sized wool tribal rug features a pattern of hexagonal panels in camel, alternated with diamonds having a dark blue ground. The overall palette is one of camel, scarlet, midnight blue, chocolate and ivory. Populating the tiles are sawtooth diamonds and stylized floral motifs. The field is framed by four borders, including primary border with repeating floral pattern, two floral guard borders and an outer border with diamond design. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and natural warp fringe.
