A vintage handwoven Indian dhurrie area rug. This cotton flat weave rug is rendered in a palette of cornflower, cocoa, blush, mauve, and ivory. The field features a spread of simple bouquets and foliage and is delineated by stepped edges. Framing the field is a single cocoa colored border comprised of undulating vines, each cluster interspersed with white and mauve flower blossoms. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges, a brief kilim skirt, and cotton warp fringe. A label to the reverse reads ‘Old India Dhurrie’.
