A hand-knotted Indo-Persian wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of indigo, wheat, ivory, cranberry, gold, olive, burnt orange, and sky blue. The field features a curvilinear layers in ground colors of indigo, wheat, cranberry, and ivory, while beginning with a diamond medallion. The field also features an array of ornately designed palmettes, floral, and foliate motifs throughout. Framing the field is a cranberry grounded main border designed with medallions, floral and foliate motifs, and cloud band forms. There are also a number of floral meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
