A hand-knotted Persian archaeological pictorial Kashmar area rug. This rug features a diamond-shaped medallion with pendants against a deep blue ground patterned with urns, floral vines, and bird figures to the corrners, in a color palette of red, ivory, powder blue, pale pink, yellow ochre, sage, and tan. It has a single border with meandering vines and palmettes and ends in short cotton warp fringe.
