A power-loomed Persian Afshari-style area rug. The rug is rendered in a palette of cochineal red, emerald, olive, cornflower, goldenrod, and eggshell. It commences with a polyagonal medallion, infilled with lobed rosettes and lancet leaves and flanked by flowering plants motifs. The solid field is grounded by stepped spandrels, populated with octangonal medallions and floral patterns. Framing the field are compound guard and secondary borders comprised of running dog, barber pole, and geometric designs, while the primary border displays a resolved floral meander over mulberry. The rug is finished with serged selvedges and applied wool fringe. It is unlabeled.
