A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan area rug. This rug features a diamond-shaped medallion with pendants, rectilinear flowers, palmettes, leaves, and branches, with complimentary spandrels in a color palette of indigo, ivory, camel, pale pink, steel blue, olive or khaki, and burgundy. It has meandering flowers and palmettes to the main border, flanked by meandering guard stripes with red grounds, and ends in short ivory cotton warp fringe.
