A hand-knotted Indo-Persian Kashan carpet runner. This rug features two diamond-form medallions inside crimson fields patterned with shah abbasi palmettes and serrated leaves and partial medallions to the corners and edges, all in a color palette of deep indigo, azure, pale pink, olive, ivory, lemon yellow, kelley green, and evergreen. It has a border with meandering palmettes and ends in short cotton warp fringe.
