A hand-knotted Persian area rug. This rug features a round medallion with points sprouting palmettes and flowers, against a crimson ground patterned with floral spray and stem-and-branches designs, in a color palette of tan, indigo, azure, olive, cream, mocha, and champagne rose. The main field is framed by spandrels with cerulean grounds and palmettes with boteh leaves, and meandering floral borders. Cotton warp fringe to either end.
