An antique Columbia Graphophone model type AO in its original, deluxe oak case, circa 1902. The Graphophone features a black, japanned chassis above a nickel-plated bedplate with a label plaque reading, ‘The / Graphophone / Manfactured By The / American Graphophone / Company / Type AO / 277614 / New York N.Y. U.S.A.’ The works are housed in the original, paneled oak case with ornate, rope-twist and foliate moldings as well as fluted, corner columns. There is a nickel-plated handle on the right side and the façade retains its original gilt, banner-form decal marked ‘Columbia Phonograph Co. / New York & Paris.’ Also included is an Edison wax cylinder record in its original, labeled cardboard tube.

- not tested; missing lid and horn; carriage below horn mount is original and with some cracking; some light oxidation and wear to nickel-plating of bedplate; some minor wear to oak case as would be expected with age and use; small chip to wax record cylinder.
