An offset lithographic reproduction print on board after the original 1787-88 oil painting by prolific well-listed French historical genre painter Hubert Robert (1733 – 1808), titled The Fountains. The image depicts incredible Roman ruins and massive Corinthian columns, dwarfing the people that congregate along the steps, walkways and surrounding boulders. The giant arched hall is flanked by majestic fountains, from which a wealth of water pours as women fill their water jugs. The print is mounted in a wood frame with gilted ornate borders and a lightly distressed finish. To the bottom of the frame there is a small metal placard that details the artwork more. The item has a wire to the verso for hanging.
