An original sculpture titled ‘Rouge Pekin’ by Vincent Olinet. The fanciful lipstick sculpture created from a square block of pine then painted in a high gloss red paint with gold glitter. The red paint intentionally dripping over the edges and down the sides of the raw wood base for effect. The sculpture is titled, signed and dated 2007 to the underside of the base.
Vincent Olinet (B. 1981 Lyon, France) studied in Montreal and France. Being inspired by objects of desire the artist states ‘I like to make shiny, colorful art pieces that appeal to our dreams and urges but actually deal with decay or disillusion’. Vincent Olinet has exhibited worldwide to include; Moscow, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Netherlands and the United States.
