A note attached to verso has a description of the image and a short biography of the artist

Paul Brio was born in Massachusetts in 1888 and relocated to Cincinnati in 1909 where he worked for several years as a journalist, bookseller, and finally as a photographer. He returned to the Northeast in 1955 and died there in 1969. His work is in museum collections throughout the US.

a water stain to the lower right corner of the print; scratches and wear to finish of frame
