A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan area rug. This rug features a central diamond medallion with pendants and a floral stem-and-branch pattern to the main field, in a color palette of ivory, indigo, deep blue, pale pink, burgundy, turquoise, and beige. It has a guard border with repeating geometric figures followed by a main border with meandering carnations. The rug is finished with cotton warp fringe and overcast selvedges.
