A graphite drawing on paper by contemporary American artist Larry ‘Poncho’ Brown (b. 1962). This semi-abstracted work features a crouching nude woman. The drawing is signed and specifically dated ‘06-10-05’ to the lower left. It is presented under glass, triple-matted, and housed in a gesso and wood frame with a bronze-tone finish and low-relief molding.
Larry ‘Poncho’ Brown attended the Maryland Institute College of Art where he received his BFA in graphic design and photography. His work has been published in several magazines such as Ebony, Essence, and Upscale. In addition, it has been featured in T.V. shows including The Wire, A Different World, and The Carmichael Show, among others. Among the institutions that have collected his work are the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, the District of Columbia Superior Court, and the Yale New Haven Health Park Avenue Medical Center, to name a few.
