A hand-painted and signed contemporary majolica vase by well-known potter and painter Giovanni De Simone (Italian, 1930 – 1991). De Simone was known for his unique folk style, depicting simple Italian village life to handcrafted pieces that are highly collectible. The vase depicts villagers at a harvest, with a balladeer playing a guitar nearby. I t is colorfully painted and signed on the exterior and marked on the base.
